Smoky Mountain of Baguio City

The garbage in Baguio City is dumped in Irisan according according to this article I found in the internet. Approximately 150,000 kilos of garbage are thrown here each day.

I took this shot along Marcos Highway where I had a great view of Naguilian Road, CooYeeSan Mall and the Baguio Cemetary.

Believe it or not, if you zoom the picture further, you will see some people on top of the heaps of garbage. According to the article, some have made the dumpsite their residence as it provided them with a means of providing for their needs, i.e., through scavenging for solid wastes that may be sold to junk shops or for recycling.
